Wine Industry Veteran Michael Ditch Partners with Beverage World Specialties

NEWS RELEASE

DENVER, April 28, 2017 — Beverage World Specialties (BWS), the upstart international beer, wine, and spirit supplier, has attracted another beverage industry veteran with the addition of former RNDC wine guru Michael Ditch as partner and vice president – director of wines.

With his broad wine experience spanning several decades of work, Ditch brings his critical wine expertise, long-established winery and distributor contacts, and high-profile retail relationships with him to BWS, where he will join with seven other beverage industry veterans in the company’s core management.
BWS Founder and President Jeff Coleman is proud to welcome Ditch and his stellar wine palate to BWS. “Michael’s talents are a tremendous asset to Beverage World Specialties’ growth potentials,” said Coleman. “His great recognition and appreciation for quality wines will be vital to meeting our goals of providing and servicing high-quality wines at favorable prices.”
After developing and operating three fine dining restaurants in Vail and Boulder, Colo., in his early years, Ditch caught the eye of then-Republic National Distributing Company’s President Jim Smith. Under Smith’s tutelage, Ditch honed his wine knowledge, sales and business expertise as he was promoted to key management positions within RNDC, including the development of the Bacchus Wine Division, a dedicated division that represented Constellation Brands. After announcing his resignation last week, RNDC complimented Ditch for his contributions during his 18-year tenure. “We wish him nothing but the best in his new endeavor and thank him for the many valuable years dedicated to RNDC,” said Taylor Sommer, executive vice president – RNDC Colorado.
“I am excited about this new venture and to help build a beverage company which has already seen so much success in its short history,” said Ditch. “Beverage World Specialties has gone from case one to representing over thirty vineyards, including leading wineries from the top nine wine-producing countries. I am looking forward to helping BWS further expand their wine portfolio and provide their customers with exceptional wines at accessible prices.”
